Effective Altruism

Giving to the needy is an optional virtue for every human being.  Unfortunately, a limited number of people give earnestly to those in need. Moreover, people tend to express psychological egoism where they act based on their interests even when they are giving to the needy. I appreciate Peter Singers notion of sufficient altruism. It broadens the perspective of giving to the needy.
According to Singer charity, entails effectively giving to the needy. He concisely indicates that there are very many people in the world that need the help of others. He also states that the number of persons who help those in need if by far deplorable. It is clear that one person cannot help everybody in the world; however, it is possible to make an impact collectively when people join hands to help the needy. Singers talk on effective altruism introduces economics to the aspect of giving to the needy. I agree with the concept because it makes sure that people do not blindly give to please yourself and those around. Effectively giving makes sure that you provide only what the pocket can sustain.
Singer states that many people think that giving is a burden and; therefore, refrain from the act of charity.  I think that giving to the society is a way of appreciating what you receive. Therefore, it is mandatory that a person gives a portion of what you can give out. I believe that there are very many ways of giving to the needy. It is clear that Singers way of giving charity is providing awareness about practical altruism through his books and talks. He touches the lives of many other people and encourages them to give to the needy. It is evidently clear that the sum of individuals saved thanks to Singer’s work is humongous. There are very many types of tribulations in the world that makes helping the needy a diverse. Moreover, one cannot classify one need as more important than the other, it will be morally inappropriate.  As such I believe that Singers drives in a weighty point when he states that a person should give what they can, whenever they can and in the manner that suits them.
