Representative Don Young. Represented had a second re-election on 2014 to serve in the 114th Congress as the only representative of Alaska to the United States House of Representatives (IAIA, 2015). He entered into office for the first time as a freshman on March 6, 1973, after he won a special election in that year and became part of the 93rd Congress. Currently he the first ranked Republican member and third position member in the House of Representatives. He served as a Chairman of the House of Natural Resources for seven years from the year 1995 to 2011. He later worked as a Chairman of the House of Transport6ation and infrastructure committee between the years 2001 and 2007. He served as a Chairman of the Subcommittee working for Alaska Native and Indian Affairs in the 112th Congress, and he is still in that position to date. He is currently serving as a senior Republican on the House of Natural Resources Committee and House of Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

He was a servant in the State House formation year 1966 to 1970. He played a key role in the approval of Trans-Alaskan Pipeline hours after assuming office in the House of Representatives of the United States in the year 1973. His colleagues honored Congress Young in the same year as the Freshman Congressman of the year. He has been very instrumental in spearheading for major projects in the committees where he served as a congressman including the 200-mile fishing limit in Alaska’s fishing industry. Up to today, he has been fighting for the control of public land by the fed4erfal government. He now serves proudly as the only representative of Alaska in the Congress” (IAIA, 2015).

Congressman Young continues to make contributions to his district and the state at large. He acts and Alaska’s National Guard in the legislature particularly in the Arctic and the military benefits for the soldiers. Throughout his service life, he has been demonstrating a commitment to making concrete contributions to the essence of the National Guard besides his contributions to the well-being of his district people. In that note, he has been acting as a watchdog for the public from whom he is serving, making significant contributions to bills passed by the Congress.
